When I find the little buggers swarming our kitchen counter, I use Tea Tree Oil which I purchase at Amazon. It's highly concentrated so don't spill it. I take the provided dropper and find the place where the ants are entering the kitchen, usually some teeny tiny hole up in the corner of the ceiling. I put some drops of the tea tree oil on that hole and that'll stop them from using that entryway for a few weeks. But of course they mysteriously find another entryway into the kitchen a few days later.
